My work is inspired by my greatest loves:
books&words& profoundconversations
and
silence&nature& quiettogetherness
Living in the biggest city in South Africa means that some of my loves are available in adundance, while others are quite scarce. This requires paying careful attention to both the big and plentiful things that I can become blind to as well the little things that may go unnoticed.
Studio Korien was born following burnout which ended my previous career. Picking up the pieces on my continuing journey of healing is a metaphor that aptly describes my work:
taking fragments and
repairing&remaking&reinventing
reworking&recreating&rewriting
brokenness into something beautiful
I have participated in group exhibitions at David Krut Projects, Gallery 2, White River Gallery, the Association of Arts Pretoria, Stilbaai Gallery and The Art Room.
I also support - through one-on-one sessions with The Good Place - creatives who want to manage their own finances and admin.
